We all have our individual preferences on what kinds of two-wheelers we ride, what brands we prefer and what kind of riding we love to do. Yet in that diversity there’s a common thread — a common love of the culture of two-wheeled machines and the people who ride them. That’s why I was thrilled to see that the director of The Best Bar in America had a new moto-related project going on Kickstarter. This time it’s a documentary combining two of my favorite things: powered two-wheelers and dogs. The movie is called Sit Stay Ride — The Story of America’s Sidecar Dogs.
While so far in the trailer, Sit Stay Ride is very motorcycle focused, we all know that scooter sidecars have a rich history. You can still get a Stella with a sidecar no problem at all. I’m willing to let the motorcycle focus slide for now, because of the dog factor. I have an idea, however. Let’s A) support this movie as a scooter community simply because it’s a great idea, and B) let’s reach out to the filmmaker, Eric Ristau, and connect him with some scooter sidecar owners who love to take their dogs along for rides. Let’s help scooter sidecars get their place in the dog+sidecar spotlight.
We’ve included the Sit Stay Ride Kickstarter widget below, but also head over to their Facebook page and give them some love over there too. Woof!
